American Art Invitational

Dee Toscano

Noted for her brilliant blends of color, Dee Toscano's paintings are poetically created with confident brush strokes and design. This artistic strength is carried over in her sculpture.

"Anticipating the magic that can happen between an artist and her work keeps me motivated. I never get bored, weary perhaps, because I know I'll never be able to create all the visions I've stored in my mind."

Interaction between children and animals is the main focus of Dee Toscano's sculptures. Her bronze works contain the same strength of creativity she achieves in her pastels, which are also highly prized for their color and crispness. It is understandably rare for an artist to master two distinctly different media, but Dee has done this exceedingly well, as indicated by her impressive list of awards.

"Sculpture allows me to turn the corner that paintings restrict. There is a constant balancing act coordinating these two mediums. Life is a classroom offering enormous visual and spiritual experiences. Being an artist has allowed me a front row seat."
