T.D. Kelsey grew up on a ranch near Bozeman, Montana, and rodeoed for many years in rough stock events and team roping. Presently, TD trains and shows his own cutting horses. He worked as a commercial pilot for United Airlines until 1979 when he resigned to devote full time to his art.
A member of the Cowboy Artists of America and the National Sculpture Society, he has works on permanent display at the Thomas Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, OK, the Kriendler Gallery and Nancy Draper wing of the Buffalo Bill Cody Museum in Cody, WY, the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, WY, Benson Park in Loveland, CO, Saint Louis Zoo, and the Pro Rodeo Hall of Champions Museum in Colorado Springs, CO. One of his works was chosen for the Masterworks of American Sculpture 1875 -1999 show, hosted by the Fleischer Museum in Scottsdale, AZ.
He has won both silver and gold medals for sculpture at the Cowboy Artists of America Show plus the Kieckhefer Award for Best of Show.
