The 2007 American Art Invitational was a tremendous success. We would like to thank everyone who took part. Beyond the brisk sales, there was a steady stream of visitors, collectors and students who came to view, study and peruse the books and literature available from the participating artists. The selection committee is wrapping up the list of invitees for 2008 and preparations are underway for another fabulous exhibition. Invitation letters will go out by the end of February.

One of many exciting additions to the 2008 show will be Southwest Art Magazine as an official co-sponsor of the event. As well as increasing our advertising visibility, their editorial staff will advise the artist selection committee, judge the exhibition and host events in conjunction with the show. There will be a charitable component to the Invitational as a way of giving back to the community. This year's opening night will be Saturday, October 11th. with events prior to and following the gala premiere. Specific timelines will be available on this site soon. Once again, thank you for your support. We look forward to building on the success of 2007.

  Print-ad deadlines: To be included in the brochure, please send one work or forward a transparency or high-resolution digital scan of one piece for our preliminary ad design. E-mail or regular mail to Saks Galleries, 3019 E. 2nd Ave., Denver CO 80206 We have found that having the actual work allows us to produce a more accurate brochure but understand if this is not possible.

• July
  We will contact you to reconfirm details and answer any questions you may have. Paint, paint, paint.

• August 15th
  Invitations are in the mail by mid-month. We will provide you with invitations for your personal friends and clients. E-mail or call to let us know how many you would like.

• September
  We will be in contact with updates

• October 1
  Please have your painting(s) at the gallery no later than October 1st.
  We will hang the show October 5th.
  Opening night is Saturday October 11st.
